IHMP is commited to the social and health transformation in women, children, adolescents and communities. Over its 40 years of existence, it has evolved into an organization that can work simultaneously at multiple levels, grassroots, capacity building, policy and research. IHMP trainees have extended their work to all corners of India and beyond. It has seeded so many individuals with the ability to provide preventive community-based services in nutrition, health, water and sanitation. IHMP’s innovations in nutrition, primary health care, adolescent health and disaster management have been the cornerstone of its work.

Based on the it’s pioneering work in primary health care and health for the urban poor in slums of Maharashtra, the Institute of Health Management Pachod (IHMP) conducted training in “Effective Project Planning, Implementation, Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation”. Many young and mid-career professionals from the Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) found the course stimulating, challenging and practical. Above all else the training infused the participants with the rare qualities of compassion and commitment. Several thousand professionals from the non-profit sector in India have benefitted from the training courses offered by the Institute.

I attended a course on Health Systems Strengthening and Health Management at the Institute of Health Management, Pachod (IHMP) in 2011. The course was sponsored by Sightsavers, India. The 15 day course at IHMP was an eye opener for me as I got an exposure to health systems. I acquired skills in designing programme interventions in systems strengthening mode, project management, monitoring, evaluation and project scaling-up. I benefitted immensely from the course as it provided me with a new perspective and made my way of working more effective. The knowledgeable faculty at IHMP, the ambience of the Institute and comfortable accommodation complemented the learning experience.
